Reflections on consciousness and seeing without eyes
A documentary that invites reflection
A few months ago we watched this documentary, and it made us reflect on consciousness and on the ability to see without eyes…
The surprising case reported by Jeffrey Long: near-death experiences
The whole documentary is truly worth watching.
But especially the case presented at minute 10:14.
At that point, Jeffrey Long, author of several books on near-death experiences (NDEs) and founder of the NDERF (Near Death Experience Research Foundation), describes a fascinating case.
Long explains that he interviewed a number of blind people who had had an NDE.
He highlights in particular the case of a young woman, blind from birth, who had a car accident at the age of 22. While she was being resuscitated in hospital, she experienced something extraordinary: for the first time, she was able to see.
In that scene, she described in detail her body lying on the table in the emergency room, something that can only be explained as a highly visual experience.
Long adds that there is no medical explanation for this phenomenon.
Our research on blindness and extraocular vision
This opens up several interesting lines of research. Until now it was thought that people who had never had sight could not develop Intuitive Vision, but this testimony suggests an important shift, which we are already studying within our research commission on functional diversity and blindness.
Testimonials from people who are blind or have low vision
Discover the testimonials from people who are blind or have low vision, who talk in the first person about their experience of Intuitive Vision, with incredible results.
Here is one of them, a very, very special one:
What does this case tell us about consciousness?
As well as opening a door to developing Intuitive Vision in people who are blind from birth, it shows that consciousness is able to see without the need for physical organs.
Or, as we have been saying, that consciousness is capable of much more than we ever imagined, and that by deepening our self-knowledge we are capable of much, much more.
How to explore our consciousness and its potential
So how can we go deeper into consciousness and discover what we are capable of? Here are some simple ways, drawn from the first pillar of Intuitive Vision:
- 👉 Meditating, to calm the mind and open up new perceptions (see our meditation for practice).
- 👉 Breathing consciously, to connect with our inner selves (see the breathing exercises for developing intuition).
- 👉 Blindfolding ourselves, a first step toward exploring our being and expanding our intuitive abilities, since the darkness it creates stimulates the activity of the pineal gland.
Discover the pillars of Intuitive Vision. In our book, we go deeper into these aspects.
Do you feel this is going to become part of your life?
Not as something to achieve or to teach, but as a way of living.
